Catalogue Note

A rare chart of New York Harbour, compiled by the English mariner Mark Tiddeman, Master of the sloop Tartar between 1724 and 1728 while deployed on the American station. Unfortunately, being prepared on a larger format than the atlas it was intended for, the chart is frequently found with marginal damage. This is the uncommon Dublin edition.
