Folio (314 x 210mm.), title within pictorial woodcut border, woodcut portrait of author on verso of title-page, woodcut initials and numerous illustrations (including maps and town views), 41 double-page woodcut maps (3 folding), 14 in early hand-colour, woodcut printer's device on final verso, seventeenth-century Dutch vellum with blindstamped centrepiece, library stamp at start of dedication and on b1 (M. Osorio, Quinta das Lagrimas, Coimbra), [Alden & Landis 550/27; Burmeister 87; Sabin 51379; VD16 M6714], lacking HHh2-7 (pp.1151-1162 at end), some maps torn at fold with some paper repairs (slightly affecting some of the images), all 3 folding maps creased and frayed, folding map of Worms lacking the right hand edge, folding map of Heidelberg with right hand section detached, a few leaves cut close with some shaving of images or printed marginalia, ink stain on Tt3 (p.685), extremities rubbed, head of spine and fore-edge of upper cover torn with some loss of vellum, lacking ties
