Catalogue Note

Rare chart of the world on Mercator's Projection; the original version was published by Halley in 1702, recording his scientific discoveries on the trade winds and variations of the compass during his voyages in the Atlantic. In 1744, and again in 1756, William Mountaine and James Dodson revised the map, with the latest additions. This version, derived from their 1756 edition, was printed in 1794.

This version is rare, with no example traced in online catalogues for British collections.
