First edition of this important atlas of the West Indies.
Sixteen of the charts form, if joined, a large general chart of the West Indies extending from the Gulf coast of Texas, Florida and the Bahamas in the north, to Venezuela and the Guianas in the south. Others are detailed surveys of the commercially important individual islands, including the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Barbados, Tobago, CuraƧao, the Turks islands, Bermuda and others.
The additional maps at the end are: De la Rochette. A Chart of the Coasts of Spain and Portugal. London: W. Faden, 1799 and J.S. Speer, Plan of the Three Ports of Ferrol [i.e. Coruna, Spain], Betanse and Corogne. London, 1773.
