Catalogue Note

A confidential British Government report on military operations and tribal disputes along the Iraq-Najd desert border, preceding the foundation of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Ibn Saud. In addition to the detailed 17 page report there are 14 appendices covering operational flying times, supplies and transport, stores, pay, water, tents, maintenance of aircraft and engines in the desert, armament, medical arrangements, weather and signals. The four maps show: 1. Iraq-Najd Frontier and probable raid routes; 2. Najd borders; 3. Iraq-Najd. Areas suitable for armoured cards; 4. Akhwan Operations.
