Catalogue Note

This is the second (the first was fully folio) edition of this grandiose production: although without the words "seconde édition" on the title-page that occurs in one state. The plates, after drawings by Forbin, Fragonard, Isabey, Prevost and Vernet, include views in Greece, Constantinople, Acre, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Jericho, the Dead Sea region, Rama, Gaza, Cairo and elsewhere in Egypt.
