Condition
Original canvas. The canvas is slightly loose and is undulating in places.
There is some minor frame abrasion to the left edge and two tiny flecks of paint loss along the right edge. There are a few minor spots of craquelure to the left and central foreground and the varnish may be slightly discoloured, but otherwise the work is in generally good condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals flecked retouchings along the left edge and an opaque varnish which may disguise old retouchings to craquelure, including a few places in the sky, foreground, and mountains.
Held in a gilt plaster frame with a fabric inset.
