Condition
The board is sound. There are a few very minor spots of craquelure, including in the centre of the sky, to the figures, and to the boat, which are only visible upon close inspection. The surface is very slightly dirty but generally the work is in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals a few scattered flecked retouchings in the sky. Other pigments fluoresce slightly, but are apparently the hand of the artist.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
