Description
- James Paterson
- Dean Bridge, Edinburgh
- signed l.l.: Jas Paterson
- oil on board
- 26.5 by 35 cm.; 10½ by 13¾ in.
Condition
The board is bowed and there is a crack which runs across the lower half of the painting. There is some very light craquelure in the upper right quadrant, which is only visible upon close inspection. Otherwise, the paint surface is in good overall condition.
Under ultraviolet light, there appear to be a few flecked retouchings; including two flecks in the lower left corner, and to the aforementioned crack. Other pigments fluoresce and appear to be by the artist's hand.
Held in a painted and gilt plaster frame in fair condition.
