Condition
The original canvas is sound; it undulates slightly in the lower right corner. There are some minor surface abrasions to the left, upper and right edges. There are two spots of cotton fragments by the left hand figure's head and on the right hand figure's dress. There are two very small spots of paint loss near the bottom edge of the lower left quadrant otherwise the surface is in good overall condition.
Under ultraviolet light there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
