Condition

Original canvas. There are a few small spots of old paint loss in all four quadrants, which have been filled in. There is some light craquelure, relegated mainly to the sky in the upper right and left quadrants. There is some residual frame paint along the right edge. Under ultraviolet light, there appears to be a few small flecked retouchings which fluoresce lightly. These correspond with the aforementioned old paint loss. The surface has been covered with a thick varnish, which makes the reading difficult to interpret. Held under glass in a gilt plaster frame; unexamined out of frame.
