Description
- tin, paint
A well-appointed first series ocean liner with railed superstructure fitted with twin funnels positioned closer to the stern of the boat than other Märklin luxury liners. This was done, perhaps, to accommodate the two benches of eight original plaster seated figures enjoying the bracing sea air. The first class rooms feature windows framed and outlined in red. Deck is finished with Märklin's top-of-the-line simulated hardwood plank deck. The railing is fitted with hinged gates on each side. There are two ventilators and a captain's wheel, which controls the rudder at stern. Clockwork mechanism is enclosed within and wound through fore funnel. Hull is cream with red piping and hand-painted windows over deep red at water line. The gilded figurehead is flanked by "Jupiter" on either side. Comes with anchor and chain.
