Description

  • tin, paint
This  third series gunboat shows much of the panache and splendor of pre-World War I Märklin boats. Its meticulous detailing makes it a more accurate portrayal of boats of the day, its long sleek design gives it a stealth-like quality, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail declares that is by Märklin. The simulated wooden deck is fitted with an elaborate triple-tier superstructure with a mast, single funnel with observation posts fitted with searchlights and mast aft. The six rotating gun turrets have an angular, low profile as opposed to their bulbous pre-war counterparts.  The lower deck includes two walkways and six guns on each side and two guns at stern for fourteen guns total. Clockwork mechanism can be accessed by means of a lift-off panel and wound through the large center funnel.
