This display features several tableaux that illustrate the evolution of toy soldiers from flat to round figures. Includes a "Sham Fight" battle game having two warring forces of Heyde flat figures with a pea-armed cannon, in the original box. Together with a semi-round figure of Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany reviewing his troops. Also featured is a US navy landing party comprised of sem-round figures, with ships, by an unknown German maker. Accompanied by an ancient Roman procession comprised of circa 1900–1903 Heyde and Mignot round figures with chariot and impressive elephant passing before later figures of Caesar and Cleopatra. Cleopatra figure created by master artist Richard Courtenay.
