Description

  • tin, paint
This fine schooner is fitted with central superstructure flanked by two masts. It features an upper deck with single funnel and bridge with rooftop observation deck and two benches occupied by two original plaster figures, below which Märklin has employed their deft artist's hands to the draped windows and fitted the deck with four benches and captain's wheel, all on a simulated wooden plank floor. The bow is fitted with an observation platform with stairs and shaped panels that rise above the deck, below which is painted "Baltimore." The white hull is embellished with scrolling design at prow with red piping and red keel. When wound the clockwork mechanism turns the powerful single prop.

Condition

Masts replaced, lifeboats missing, cowl vent missing, creasing and wear to hull. Overall a very attractive Märklin boat. Please note that the stand is not for sale and will not accompany the lot.
