  • Jade, coral
superbly hollowed, of rounded square shape sloping to a slightly flared neck culminating in a wide mouth, supported on a neatly carved oval footrim, carved in low relief on each face with an Immortal, one shoulder with a writhing dragon approaching the 'flaming pearl' on the opposite side, the stone of even, highly polished white color

Catalogue Note

The mouth of the present bottle is unusually wide and the stone is highly polished. A bottle of similar polish, carved with two confronting qilong, and described as having a wide mouth, is in the The Victoria and Albert Museum Collection and illustrated by Helen White, Snuff Bottles from China, Singapore, 1992, p. 18, no. 3.
