Catalogue Note
The present bottle is similar to a white jade example, also attributed as possibly Imperial, sold in our London rooms, 13th October 1987, lot 133, and again at Christie's New York, 30th March 2005, lot 40. The comparable bottle, now in The J & J Collection, is described by Hugh Moss, Victor Graham and Ka Bo Tsang in The Art of the Chinese Snuff Bottle: The J & J Collection, New York, 1993, Volume I, pp. 50-51, no. 12, as being 'from the same workshop' as the present example.
