Catalogue Note

This bottle is exceptional among jadeite bottles for its extremely thin walls, impressively hollowed interior and yet intense color. It would have required tremendous skill on the part of the carver to achieve such thinness without damaging the walls of the bottle. A comparable jadeite bottle, formerly in the Frederick Von Schleinitz Collection, was sold in these rooms, 17th March 1997, lot 299.
