Catalogue Note

First edition. The officers of the Central Pacific Railroad—the western segment of the Transcontinental Railroad—comprised three-quarters of the Big Four: Leland Stanford was President; Collis Huntington, Vice President; and Mark Hopkins, Treasurer. Charles Crocker did sit with his fellows on the Board of Directors, together with Judah and four others. Scarce.
