San Francisco: n.p., 1852. 8vo (8 1/4 x 5 in.; 210 x 126 mm); small residue in left margin of title from previous binding. Three quarter red morocco, gilt-ruled, gilt-stamped title on spine. "These speeches of Lockwood are required reading for anyone wishing to understand the dark and cruel side of the activities of the Vigilance Committee" (Streeter).

San Francisco: Morning Globe Print, 1856. 8vo (9 x 5 1/2 in.; 230 x 140 mm), self wrappers; formerly folded, small spot in lower margin. N.H. Moses, Lynching and Vigilantism, no. 3002. Blue half-morocco clamshell box, gilt-stamped title on spine, also containing the following three newspapers:



The Daily Town Talk, vol. 4, no. 10, May 21, 1856; vol. 4, no. 14, May 25, 1856 [with:] Pictorial Town Talk, Steamer Edition, vol. 1, no. 1, June 5, 1856. Broadsheet (21 1/4 x 14 in.; 540 x 355 mm); folded, water-stained in left margin affecting text, some fraying in upper margins, inscribed in upper margin of last  " ... Bond Wareham". Giving up to the minute reportage of the killing of King, and the subsequent reorganization of the Vigilance Committee that lynched the perpetrators.
