Catalogue Note
The chairman of the Committee of Safety and member of the Provincial Congress at Watertown, Joseph Warren, writes out with all due haste a pass for a courier from Albany: "The Bearer hereof is sent on Express from Albany with the Letter for the Committee of Correspondence you you [sic] will be kind enough to give him all the Assistance in your Power in obtaining Intelligence relating to our Public Affairs."
Letters entirely in Warren's hand are scarce, with only five having appeared at auction in the past 35 years.
