Tel.," 1 page (12 3/4 x 7 7/8 in.; 322 x 200 mm) on a ledger leaf, New York, 10 July 1843, being an abstract of salaries for the Electromagnatic Telegraph Company; some small marginal chips and tears. Accompanied by a clerical "Copy of Fourth monthly Report United States in account current with S. F. B. Morse, Superintendent of Magnetic Telegraphs," and by a manuscript copy of W. W. Boardman's 11 February 1842 congressional motion "That the Committee on Commerce be instructed to inquire into the expediency of establishing a system of electro-magnetic telegraphs for the use of the Government of the United States."
