3 volumes, 4to (11 x 8 5/8 in.; 280 x 220 mm). 23 engraved maps (of which 20 are folding) and 27 plates (of which 20 are folding); lacking a plate each in vols. 1 & 3, tears in blank upper inner corner of first title and mended marginal tear page 60, chart of Hawkins Maidenhead lightly browned, Tahiti map in vol. 2 laid in, small tear in gutter margin of New South Wales map in vol. 3, occasional text offsetting. Contemporary sprinkled calf, gilt-ruled borders; rebacked, a few stains.

3 text volumes, 4to (11 7/8 x 9 1/8 in.; 304 x 232 mm) and 1 atlas volume (21 3/4 x 14 in.; 552 x 356 mm). 19 engraved maps (of which 9 are folding) and 67 engraved plates (of which 6 are folding); a few leaves with marginal spotting, dampstain entering image from the top edge in two atlas plates (Christmas Harbour & Man of Van Diemen's Land), some light marginal spotting in a few plates. Contemporary polished tree calf, gilt roll-tooled floral border, atlas in three-quarter calf and marbled boards; text vols. rebacked, corner torn, joints of atlas rubbed.
