Catalogue Note

Buffalo Bill is feeling his age. Hersey was a Denver attorney who represented Cody. From the postscript: "Sometimes I feel like giving up—and letting everything go. Here at my age to find myself pressed on all sides for money — and I am working — where realy[sic] I should go into a hospital and be opperated[sic] on for an enlarged prostrate[sic] gland. The horse back work hurts. And with rain, opposition, war scare etc. I get no dividends and every $100 I get a dozen people want it."
