used from Manchester to Leicester 12 April 1841, Britannia cancelled by both a handstruck straight-line 'LEIGH.P.P' and distinctive Manchester black 'fishtail' Maltese Cross cancellation, Manchester code 'E' date stamp of despatch on the reverse, Leicester arrival the following day. ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN USAGE OF THIS CANCELLATION ON A MULREADY. (S.G. £7,500)
