1930 Evacuation of St. Kilda Island,

photographic picture post card of St. Kilda village sent from St. Kilda 25 August 1930 to Dartmouth, franked with a King George V 1d., tied by the St. Kilda circular date stamp of despatch, light creasing; very fine. RARE - SENT JUST FOUR DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVACUATION OF THE ISLAND.

The message reads - "Here I am on a boat lying off St. Kilda but it is not thought we will be able to land as it might be impossible to bring us back owing to sea. Try & get this posted to let you have one of last stamps of St. Kilda."
