used on a small crested envelope from Windsor Castle addressed to Lord Amherst at Brandon, Norfolk, tied by the Windsor '10 PM' circular date stamp of 5 February 1904 in black, arrival date stamp on the reverse; fine. (S.G. £1,000)

The original enclosure is a crested 'WINDSOR CASTLE' note card with the message 'We are most grateful for the telegram of the safe arrival at Khartoum. I am, yours very faithfully, Walter Parratt.'

Walter Parratt held the position of Master of Music to both Queen Victoria and King Edward VII
