Usual of Chinese lacquer panels, the lacquer to the top is from screen panels and pieced together at the center of the top. The lacquer to the top with lifting and craquelure throughout, oval loss to right side of top approximately 1 ½ in x ¾ in., small triangular loss to the left edge approximately ½ in x ½ in; left flap with inpainting and to upper section at right edge; small chips particularly to the edges at hinges with flaps; the underside of the top and flaps with butterfly patches and with braces to correct warpage; lacquer panels to drawers and dummy drawers with lifting and craquelure and with some losses; top warped, flaps with bowing; the trestle base and stretcher are later. Chinese lacquer is lacking to the inside of left trestle support; minor age cracks to japanned bases of trestle.
