the 12-inch dial with urn and leaf spandrels and signed Windmills & Wightman, seconds dial to the matted centre and a calendar dial in the arch with star-cut center and flanked by dolphin spandrels, five pillar rack and bell striking movement with anchor escapement, the case with moulded broken-arch pediment centred by two putti holding a cartouche above panels of foliate fret and stop-fluted brass-capped hood pilasters, the well figured trunk door with gilt mouldings above a stepped plinth with wide crossbanding.

Condition

The movement appears to retain the original wheelwork throughout and may benefit from a clean and service; Good restored condition; alterations and additions to hood with replacements to some veneers; loss to veneer facing around arch; glass panels to sides later; replacements to molding of cornice and sides; the case with tearing to veneers to left of door; door slightly warped; lifting and separation to veneers of door with minor perishing to varnish; later gilding to door edge; sides of case with replaced veneer panels; age cracks and tearing to veneer of square plinth along lines of construction beneath; replacements to veneers of the molded base; overall with some old marks and scratches; gilding later.
