Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is creamier and less white in the original work. The top 2cm of the work has been cropped in the catalogue image. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slack overall with light canvas draw in all four corners. There are faint rub marks in several places: one running sporadically parallel to the upper section of the right edge; one along the left section of the bottom edge; one 15cm above this; and one parallel to the centre of the left edge. Upon very close inspection there is a small area of brown media splashes towards the lower left corner and scattered minute surface irregularities and fly spots in places. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals specks of retouches scattered throughout in the blacks and whites.
