Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is warmer in the original with the white tending more to cream. The illustration fails to convey the actual depth of the bar at the top of the composition, and does not illustrate the lights that shine up from the bottom of the composition. Condition: This work is in good condition. There is wear and paint loss to the corner tips of the wooden backing board. There are handling and rub marks scattered around the 4 edges of the wooden board, particularly noticeable along the left side. There is a stable vertical crack line running from the centre of the top edge to the centre of the bottom edge (faintly visible in the catalogue illustration). No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
