Condition

This work is in very good and sound condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling particularly along the edges of the cube. Please note the work was repainted incorrectly, although it is unclear when this may have happened. The paint had a high gloss appearance as opposed to the original matte that the artist intended, which is in keeping with the artist's aesthetic with his patinated sculptures. Under the direction of the Matthew Marks Gallery and under the supervision and execution of the Tony Smith Estate, the work has been repainted to the original and intended specifications of the edition. Please note that the correct medium should read: wood, painted black
