divided into two registers, the prophet Daniel in the upper register, traditionally represented beardless, shown with a Persian head and dressed in a blue tunic and red mantle, holding a scroll with his prophecy, in the lower register, Christ, bowed under the weight of the cross, being lead by a soldier who addresses a man looking on at the scene, called Simon of Cyrene, to assist Christ
