exuberantly modelled as an amphora flanked by adorsed griffins on a quatrefoil base, the whole brightly painted and gilt, the body of rust-coloured ground applied with feathers and flowerheads, the griffins with scaly skin and curling tails, with impressed factory mark further numbered 850, 34
Condition
There are chips to the lip, base and beaker each measuring approx. 1.5 cm in diameter. There is further rubbing to the gilding in place and craquelure in to the glaze. There is what appears to be a firing crack visible to the exterior and the underside of the base.measuring approx. 17 cm. A very unusual piece in overall good condition as expected with age.

Catalogue Note
The Kuznetsov company was a large conglomerate of porcelain manufactories in the second half of the 19th century which specialised in pure bright colours and imaginative forms and participated in several exhibitions including the All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition in Moscow in 1882.
