after a design by Vasily Kuznetsov, with blue manufactory mark, dated 1923, design number No282/5, and impressed initials I.K. for modeller Ivan Kuznetsov

There is a firing crack to the back of the neck measuring approx. 0.7cm. Otherwise in good overall condition consistent with age.

This figure, also known as 'January', is from Kuznetsov's 'Zodiac Signs' series on which he began working in 1916.  He completed the first two models, 'Aquarius' and 'Pisces', in 1918 and was awarded a gold medal for these works at the Paris Exhibition of 1925.  For similar models, see T.N.
