Description

  • porcelain, metal staples
  • diameter: 24.7cm, 9 3/4 in.
the cavetto depicting a female figure representing Hope seated with Cupid on her lap, her anchor and his quiver resting nearby, the border decorated with a continuous band of gilt rosettes on a white ground, the reverse titled: 'L'Espèrance nourit l'Amour' and affixed with an Anichkov Palace inventory label numbered 7578

Condition

There is a crack to the porcelain measuring approx. 20cm which is stabilised with 4 staples. There is very minor wear to the gilding and painted decoration consistent with age.
