  • jewelled silver , rubies, gold, sapphire,
  • width: 9.2cm, 3 5/8 in.
the lid chased with stylised eryngium leaves and set with cabochon rubies, the corner applied with a gold Imperial eagle, cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, struck K.Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, 84 standard, scratched inventory number 14081, further struck with later Russian control mark L (Cyrillic) denoting objects displayed for public sale

Provenance

Purchased by the Emperor at a cost of 75 roubles for his voyage to Belovezhskaya and Spala, 27 November 1900.
