  • silver-gilt and cloisonne enamel
  • length: 15.2cm, 6in.
with formalised foliage in shaded polychrome enamels and raised beads on a pale green ground, the border applied with hardstone cabochons on an olive ground, the base with engraved inscription: 'Henry Hugh Hanna/ Anna Sharpe Hanna/ Souvenir of their visit/ to St Petersburg Russia/ 1903', 88 standard

Catalogue Note

Henry Hanna (1848-1920) visited Russia in January 1903 as a member of the American Commission on International Exchange.  A tea glass holder also purchased on this trip sold, Christie's South Kensington, 23 February 2010, lot 313.
