the realistically painted figure of Christ shown at half length, blessing and holding the open Gospels, with oklad decorated in brightly colored cloisonnĂ© enamel in floral and geometric patterns, the Gospels in champlevĂ© enamel and the halo with seed pearls, the outer edges raised to resemble half-columns surmounted by transparent green crosses
