This large oil on canvas has probably never been cleaned or removed from its original stretcher. The paint layer is in very good state. There is a small piece of paper glued in the lower right corner which contains the inscription, Flowers Caught by High Tide – but the signature and date are original to the canvas. One could carefully clean the picture, but this is a painting that is probably best viewed in its current condition: unlined,
uncleaned and un-varnished, with no damages or retouches. It is in excellent condition.
