Condition
Oil on canvas. The surface is covered with a layer of varnish. There is minor paint loss around the edges. There is pigment loss and a small tear to the canvas in the upper left corner. There is a 1 1/2 inch scratch to the surface in the upper left corner. There is some craquelure to the surface, particularly in the upper left quadrant of painting. There are some spots of minor paint loss in the area of craquelure and this should be addressed by a painting restorer. The canvas is slightly buckled across top edge. Under UV no pigments appear to fluoresce but varnish prevents a conclusive analysis. Held in a gold painted wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.
