rectangular with oval aperture, enameled translucent cerulean blue over sunburst engraving and applied with ribbon-bound swags and laurel chased bezel, the outer frame with beaded border and ribbon-tied surmount, set on two spindle feet and with gilded silver strut formed as the initial A for Emperor Alexander III, the aperture with a photograph of Emperor Alexander III in uniform with the Cross of St. George at his neck
