  • marked with workmaster's initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic, and 56 standard. Also with scratched inventory number 46336

in the Rococo taste, the carved cylindrical bowenite cup mounted à cage with a series of floral swags hanging from finely chased scrolls, the handle similarly made of up a number of shell scrolls and a ridged thumbpiece

Provenance

According to research by Tatiana Fabergé, Emperor Alexander III purchased this bowenite cup on July 31, 1893. We are grateful for her assistance in cataloging this lot.
