Catalogue Note
yipwon, représentant un personnage debout dont le corps hautement stylisé est sculpté pour être vu de profil. La tête reprend le schéma classique des visages dans la statuaire anthropomorphe du Sépik: front bombé sculpté en visière surmonté d'un crochet en bec d'oiseau, nez aux narines percées, petite bouche entrouverte projetée, menton prolongé d'un appendice pointu. Reposant sur une jambe unique, le corps est réduit à sa plus simple expression. La cage thoracique est signifiée par une série de crochets disposés symétriquement, enserrant une protubérance centrale.
