  • Gelatin silver print with ink and gouache
a unique object, oversized, tipped to a linen mount, signed, titled, dated, and annotated by the photographer and by artists Mathenge Kivoi and E. Mwangi Kuria in ink and with extensive illustrations in colored gouache, tempera, and inks on the image and in the margins, and with a fabric collage element, framed, 1976, printed in 2001 (Photofile, pl. 41)

Condition

Because of its size, this print has not been removed from its driftwood frame. It appears to be in generally excellent condition. As is typical of prints by Peter Beard, the paper is somewhat wavy because it has been extensively illustrated. and is floating within the frame on a linen mount. The edges of the paper are somewhat rubbed, and there is a small tape remnant at the upper left edge.
