Description

  • Robert Frank
  • 'CONVENTION' (DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION, CHICAGO)
  • Gelatin silver print
signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin, the photographer's copyright stamp, credit and date in ink, and his 'Robert Frank Archive' stamp with title, annotation and number '305' in pencil, on the reverse, 1956, printed in the 1970s

Condition

This print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. There is a tiny (1/8-inch) tear at the lower margin edge. This does not affect the image in any way. When examined in raking light, 3 soft crescent-shaped handling creases are visible in the image. On the reverse, there are remnants of 2 small cloth tape hinges at the upper edge.
