Catalogue Note

According to Strand authority Anthony Montoya, it is believed that Paul Strand made 5 other prints of this image. All of them, like the print offered here, were made around the time of the negative.  In the first edition of Strand's La France de Profil (Lausanne, 1952) this image is titled 'A La Vierge, Café-Restaurant, Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France, 1950.'
