mounted to Cadet illustration board, signed and titled in pencil on the mount, the photographer's address label and titled and annotated in pencil on paper affixed to the reverse, circa 1930 (Tasker, unpaginated)
Condition
This early, warm-toned print on paper with a light surface sheen and mounted to cream-colored board, is in generally excellent condition. Upon close examination, a few small soft linear indentations are visible, none of which breaks the emulsion or is visible when viewing the print at a normal distance. Also visible in the upper right quadrant of the image is a scattering of tiny accretions of indeterminate nature. Along the upper edge of the print, there is a tiny chip in the emulsion. In high raking light, slight silvering is visible in the dark areas of the image.
The mount is slightly age-darkened at the periphery, and there are a few stray graphite-colored marks. The corners are lightly bumped, and there are 3 tack holes along the upper and lower mount edges. On the reverse of the mount are light horizontal creases.
The note, affixed with cello-tape that has yellowed with age, reads: 'Amazon - Lily - #8, Common name for Eucharis grandiflora, a bulbous plant of the Amaryllis Family, native to Columbia. Successfully grown in the subtropical climate of Southern California.'
