Condition

These early prints are in generally excellent condition. 'Zen #0057' - In raking light, the following are visible: light silvering in the dark areas of the print; 2 soft ½-inch crescent-shaped creases that do not break the emulsion along the upper and lower edges of the print; and very faint surface scratches in the bottom portion of the print. The mount's edges are slightly darkened and the corners are bumped. On the reverse of the mount, '57A - '60' is written in an unidentified hand pencil. On the reverse of the frame there is a Gallery 292, New York, label. Untitled (window screen) - In high raking light, a ½-inch soft linear impression is visible in the upper right quadrant of the image. This does not break the emulsion or affect the fine quality of the print. The photograph is annotated 'G292 074' and '59 C' in unidentified hands in pencil on the reverse. On the reverse of the frame there is a Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York, label. The prints were acquired by the present owner from Gallery 292, New York, and Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York, in 1996-98.
