Condition

This impressive mural-sized print is in generally excellent condition. The photograph, on a rich paper with a faint surface sheen, is on a substantial foamcore mount. In the lower left corner, there is a 2-inch surface crease that does not break the emulsion. Also visible upon close examination is very minimal edge chipping; this is not apparent when viewing the print framed. The photograph has undergone conservation. This conservation was successful, and a treatment report is available upon request. Upon close examination, tiny deposits of retouching that have lightened somewhat are visible in the sky. The mural is in a thin white frame and is glazed. The joints of the lower corners of the frame are separating slightly.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
